Summer Kids Camp at SCIS Hongqiao

Because FUN doesn't need to take a summer break!

Shanghai Community International School (SCIS) is excited to offer specialized summer camp programs consisting of developmentally appropriate activities, designed with the whole child in mind. Our summer camp programs are non-academic, thematic programs filled with action-packed fun for all ages. Our programs include games, sports, outdoor exploration, water activities, field trips, art, music & movement, drama, Mandarin language/culture fun, and free play. Children will be provided with various opportunities to work together, play, and have fun with their friends!

Students from the Shanghai community, who will have completed Preschool* through Grade 5 during the 2017-2018 school year, are welcome to enroll (Date of birth ranging from October 31, 2014, through November 1, 2006). The programs will run from June 18 - July 12, with flexible weekly enrollment options for families with limited availability or travel plans. Both full-day and half-day** enrollment options include lunch service and all summer camp activity costs.

*All students must be toilet independent (see the SCIS Summer Kids Camp Parent-Camper Handbook 2018 for clarity on the “toilet independence” policy)
**Half-Day program is for preschool age students only (Date of birth ranging from 11/01/2013 - 10/31/2014)


Enrollment Options: 
Full-Day: 8:30am - 3:00pm
Half-Day: (Preschool Only): 8:30am - 12:30pm

  Week 1 (June 18 – 22): Let’s Get Active!
Get ready to be active! Throughout the week campers will have the opportunity to work individually and in teams to experience a variety of sports, games, and activities to build leadership and critical thinking skills. In addition to active bodies, camper’s minds will be stimulated through art, science, cooking, and open-ended play opportunities.
  Week 2 (June 25 – 29): Back to Nature!
This week is for the camper that has an interest in or would like to become one with nature. Throughout the week campers will be immersed in nature through art and science activities, they will also have the opportunity for hands-on nature experiences in our ECE garden, nature walks, and visits to local parks.
  Week 3 (July 2 – 6): Imagination Station!
Campers, get ready to stretch your imagination! This week campers will use their imagination to make their dreams a reality. In addition to their creativity, campers will have access to open-ended materials and inspirational supplies to construct a new world around them. We will have a chance to bring dreams to life through storytelling, drama, art, and construction projects throughout the week.
  Week 4 (July 9 – 13): Adventure Time!
This week is for the explorative camper! There is no telling how our campers might get to their destination throughout this week of adventure…by submarine, train, spaceship. The sky is the limit this week at the ECE as our campers set out on an adventure to explore our world and beyond through a number of exciting open-ended and hands-on experiences to understand the thrill and adventure of exploration.


Enrolling students from the Shanghai community who will have completed Preschool through Grade 5 during the 2017-2018 school year (Date of birth ranging from October 31, 2014, through November 1, 2006). In general, class groupings have been: Preschool, Pre-K/Kindergarten, Grades 1/2, and Grades 3/4/5 (although, class groupings are subject to enrollment).


Tuition & Fees:

Early Bird Fees: Registration from April 2 – May 18
Full-Day:3,000 RMB per week // Half-Day (Preschool Only): 2,250 RMB per week
*Payment must be made by May 18 to be eligible*

Standard Fees: Registration after May 18
Full-Day:3,500 RMB per week // Half-Day (Preschool Only): 2,500 RMB per week
Sibling Discount Fees: Registration after May 18
Full-Day: 3,000 RMB per week // Half-Day (Preschool Only): 2,250 RMB per week

Transportation Fees:
500 RMB per child, per week of bus service

Due to new Shanghai Transportation Bureau regulations, all bussing requests (for all four-weeks of Summer Camp) must be submitted before June 1. No changes or additions to bus routes or bus stops can be made after June 1.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Any changes to your child’s enrollment after May 31 are subject to withdrawal penalties as per the refund policy. More details about the refund policy can be found in the SCIS Summer Kids Camp Parent-Camper Handbook 2018.
