Congratulations to the SCIS Class of 2019 for achieving outstanding results on the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme exams. In May this year, SCIS seniors joined more than 166,000 students worldwide who entered for the full IB Diploma.
Outstanding International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Results
Sixty-five students sat this year’s exam and achieved a remarkable 88% pass rate. Well above the world average of 77%. Unlike many IB schools around the world, SCIS does not pre-select students for entry into the IB Diploma. We encourage all students to grasp the opportunities provided by this challenging program.
The SCIS average score for those who achieved the full IB Diploma was 34, compared to the 30 global average. Our top mark this year was 44 (out of a 45) with an impressive nine students scoring above 40 points, or one in seven students.
Dedication to Making a Difference
These remarkable results are a great indicator of our students’ performance and the fantastic academic support they receive from our educators and academic advisors. In addition to these tremendous results, students also dedicated themselves to a wide range of co-curricular activities and earning a significant number of Community, Action, and Service (CAS) hours.
Following this academic success, the SCIS Class of 2019 is set to attend top universities and colleges around the world. Graduates are set to attend some of the world’s leading programs this year with acceptances coming in from top universities in 13 countries around the world.
Our entire faculty, administration and the whole school community are immensely proud of the efforts of the class of 2019 as they progressed through the SCIS International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. We have high hopes this class will continue to make a positive and profound impact on their future academic and professional communities.
