From monster mashes to flash mobs, our whole community across three campuses celebrated Halloween festivities. Here are some highlights of the celebrations along with pictures and a thrilling video of our Grades Four and Five performers.
Hongqiao Early Childhood Education Campus
Leading up to the Halloween celebrations our Early Childhood Education students had a week full of fall fun where pumpkins became pets, pillows, and pies and there was a myriad of scientific investigations into how pumpkins grow, what’s inside them and the changes they go through when you cook them. Students enjoyed coming to school in costumes, taking part in a parade, and imaginative play. It was a wonderful event for princesses, superheroes, and skeletons of all ages!
Hongqiao Main Campus
The energy was felt at the Hongqiao Campus during all of the Halloween fun. The afternoon was eventful with eerie-sistible games that many students designed and created themselves. There was a festive assembly with performances, a celebration of sports seasons, games, and dragon whispers. Grade Six through Grade Eight Student Council organized a Halloween party with trick or treating, games, and a movie. The big feature of the afternoon was the Grade Five flash mob led by our very own Lower School teacher, Mr. Barrs. It was a great turn out and the costumes were fantastic. Some parents even gathered off campus to watch the Livestream performance!
SCIS Pudong’s community got the party startled as students, teachers, and staff worked together to create a fun Halloween-filled day for all. Kids from Nursery to Grade 12 wore their Halloween costumes throughout the day which included fun games, a middle school dance, and lots of delicious treats. Our amazing parent community also organized an off-campus Halloween celebration at Century Park over the weekend!
From all of us at SCIS, we hope you a ‘fang-tastic’ Halloween weekend filled with celebrations of your own.
