A Strong Start Together

The new school year united our SCIS community across our Hongqiao and Pudong campuses. Families, teachers, and students shared laughter and conversations at Welcome Back BBQs, while  Back to School Nights set a strong, collaborative tone for the year ahead.

Back to School Nights

 

Across Hongqiao and Pudong campuses, parents were warmly greeted by our student ambassadors upon arrival. They then met with the leadership team and joined teachers in classrooms to gain insight into the year’s curriculum and discuss strategies to support their children’s learning. These evenings offered a valuable opportunity for families to understand classroom expectations and explore subject-specific approaches. It strengthened the supportive connection between school and home that enables students to flourish academically, socially, and personally.

 

Welcome Back BBQs

 

Families, students, and staff gathered to reconnect over a variety of activities and shared traditions. Children enjoyed bouncy castles, water slides, a dunk tank, and an inflatable Gaga pit, while families sampled foods from around the world. At Pudong, the Student Council ran a beverage booth, supporting our student-led initiatives on campus and adding to the vibrant atmosphere. At Hongqiao, families enjoyed engaging performances by our Lower School students, which brought extra energy and joy to the celebration. These moments captured the Dragon spirit and offered a warm, festive start to the year.

These moments reflect the heart of SCIS: a diverse, dynamic community where every family feels welcomed, every voice is heard, and everyone belongs.
