This academic school year represents a momentous milestone in Shanghai Community International Schools' history as we celebrate our 25th year since our commencement in 1996.
To commemorate this significant event, we were fortunate to have our current SCIS students, staff, and parents join us during our 25th Anniversary celebration over the weekend. It was a unique opportunity for us to gather together, on campus, as a complete community, and celebrate all that we have accomplished together.
The honor of cutting our 25th-anniversary cake was bestowed upon Wang De Xuan, Grace Hu, Jason Dwi, and Daniel Eschtruth, our longest serving support staff, operation staff, alumni, and educator, respectively. Joining them were our Parents and Friends Association Presidents from both campuses, Lisa Chu and Sammy Yi, as well as our Deputy Director of Schools, Elizabeth Gale.
On behalf of our board members, enclosed is a short message from our Chairman of the Board, Mr. Larry Barry, who was unable to attend the celebrations over the weekend.
“I continue to appreciate the people that work every day to keep the dream of SCIS alive. The founders took a risk and created an amazing foundation that you all have built. For the past five years, especially the past two affected by the global pandemic, the faculty, staff, leadership, families, and students have done immeasurable amounts of support to ensure our vision carries on. Sorry to not be there to join you in the celebration. All the best."
To each and all of you, our sincerest thanks for 21 years of care, commitment, and continued support.
We are SCIS, a community of Dragons!
