- Community
As we enter the Year of the Rabbit, lively celebrations and festivities of glee have brought back the Dragon spirit across all our campuses. Our community has been taking part in a variety of activities that appreciates host culture through traditional crafts, festive lights, and cultural performances!
Hongqiao ECE Campus
Over at the Hongqiao Early Childhood Education campus, our little learners took a deep dive into the Chinese culture and celebrated the Year of the Rabbit through several fun and games including mastering martial arts, receiving red envelopes, creating arts & crafts, and more!
Pudong Campus
As a yearly tradition, the Lower School at the Pudong campus puts together the Chinese Temple Fair. The Chinese Temple Fair is a great opportunity for all students, faculty, and staff to be involved in the 12 stations that are connected to Chinese traditions. From traditional calligraphy, and dragon dance, to Chinese shadow play, our Green Dragons experienced the roots and history of China.
The Pudong Upper School students participated in the annual Chinese New Year assembly where the entire theater was filled with prosperity, luck, and of course - the Dragon spirit.
Hongqiao Main Campus
And the celebrations continued at the Hongqiao Main campus with first a fun-filled day for the Lower School students where they had the opportunity to make dumplings, send wishes for the New Lunar Year, and explore Chinese crafts.
The celebrations carried on with an extravagant professional Chinese lion dance show, which lifted the entire school's spirit across campus.
After weeks of preparation and dedication, our Dragons performed flawlessly while honoring the Chinese culture through timeless performances including the classic Chinese harp, poetry, dancing, and so much more!
Events like Chinese New Year truly showcase the uniqueness and solidarity of our community, while gaining a shared experience of cherishing our host country - China. We wish you and your family an auspicious Rabbit Year full of prosperity and wealth.
