RECAP | SCIS at Maker Faire Shanghai 2025

Last weekend, SCIS brought creativity, curiosity, and hands-on learning to Maker Faire Shanghai 2025. Our Dragons showcased design thinking, STEM play, and coding robotics, inviting families to explore, build, and create together under the warm autumn sun.

Students and parents enjoyed designing and printing personalized badges, building magnetic structures, programming Dash robots, and assembling 3D Dragon puzzles — each activity highlighting the joy of learning through making.

The SCIS booth created a space where children could imagine, prototype, and problem-solve, just as they do in our classrooms. Through these experiences, students discovered how real-world learning at SCIS helps them develop confidence, resilience, creativity, and design thinking skills.

A standout moment was seeing the event fill with our eco-friendly SCIS community mural tote bags, featuring the "SCIS and the World Around Us" mural from our Lower School Community Artwork series, celebrating student creativity and our vibrant school spirit.

Thank you to our SCIS families, students, and friends who joined us and helped make this weekend a celebration of innovation and imagination.

We look forward to seeing you at the next Maker Faire!
