Last Saturday was filled with joy and celebration across the Hongqiao and Pudong campuses of Shanghai Community International School (SCIS).
The SCIS Hongqiao Main campus held the annual End of the Year BBQ, a roaring success with over 1,700 families and friends. The event was a true feast for the senses, with delectable food offerings from vendors representing the diverse SCIS community. From the sizzling German Wurst and Dutch Pies to the fragrant Indian Kitchen and Vietnamese homemade spring rolls, there was something to delight every palate.
Adding to the festive atmosphere were the bouncy castles that delighted the children, and the swimming competition that showcased the athletic prowess of the students. The sunny and breezy weather provided the perfect backdrop for families to come together and bid farewell to another successful school year.
Meanwhile, at the SCIS Pudong campus, the first-ever PAFA (Parents and Friends Association) Family Field Day was a resounding triumph. More than 200 people registered for the event, which brought together families from the Pudong community. Parents and children participated in organized games and activities, divided into teams that fostered camaraderie and teamwork.
The four stations of fun-filled games, including water-based challenges, created a lively and spirited atmosphere. Families had the opportunity to bond and build stronger connections through their shared experiences. The beautiful weather, delicious food and drinks, and the free ice cream treat for the children added to the memorable experience.
Both events were a testament to the vibrant and inclusive community that SCIS fosters, where families come together to celebrate the achievements and milestones of the school year. The End of the Year BBQ at Hongqiao and the PAFA Family Field Day at Pudong were undoubtedly successful in creating lasting memories and strengthening the ties within the SCIS community.
