We are delighted to announce our extraordinary achievement at the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS) High School Math Olympiad 2024, held last weekend at Nanjing International School. Competing against 20 teams from nine ACAMIS international schools, our two SCIS Hongqiao teams delivered stellar performances across all four rounds of the competition.
With one team emerging victorious, claiming 1st place in every round and the other team achieving 2nd place in three of the four rounds, both teams showcased remarkable consistency and mathematical expertise. The competition’s highlight was the Group Modeling round, which showcased not only their mathematical expertise but also their embodiment of key IB Learner Profile attributes, particularly being reflective and strong communicators.
The two SCIS teams’ success highlighted the value of collaboration, a skill deeply ingrained in the SCIS learning experience. Their ability to work effectively as a team was a key factor in their victory, culminating in their extraordinary results of 1st and 2nd place overall.
We extend heartfelt congratulations to our talented students—Stacy, Seo Jin, Seo Eun, Ahjin, Min Sung, and Leo—for their hard work, perseverance, and dedication. A special thanks to both their coach Mr. Infantozzi and to Ms. Knights, who supported the students on the trip. SCIS-Honqiao celebrates this inspiring accomplishment and applauds the Dragons for their excellence.
